Hammer camp 2017
Hammer Camp 2k17
This year for camp Totora went to Hanmer Springs we had the best time and we wished we could have been there for longer but we were only there for 3 days.
Day 1.
On day one of camp we all meet at school before we headed to Hanmer. We left school around about 9am to head to Reefton for our morning tea. After Reefton we headed to Hanmer. Once we got there we went to our bunk rooms to put all our stuff in there and set up our beds and had lunch. We also got to have a little bit of free time and then we got ready for our first activity, my groups first activity was tree climbing. I really liked tree climbing because I got really high up the tree. We got to do the crate challenge which was really fun. After that we went to the hot pools we got to go on the super bowl and the hydro slides. On the hydro slide it was really steamy and hot so I felt a little sick going down it but when I got to the bottom it was good fun. After we got back to camp we had our dinner and pudding.Then we had a camp quiz which was challenging but was fun. After that it was bed and we could not get to sleep we were one of the noises bunk room and we did not go to sleep till like midnight but it was fun.

On day 2 we got woken up at 7:00 so we got dressed and did our hair ready for the day. We went over to the kitchen at 7:30 ready for breakfast I had spaghetti on toast and it was delicious. After that we headed back to our bunk room for a little bit and then headed to our first activity for the day, our group had Mission Impossible. For Mission Impossible you have to go through a series of challenges there were over 10 challenges that we had to complete we completed all of the activities before time was up. After that we had some morning tea and we got ready for our second activity our second activity our group's was Mountain Biking and it was so fun because I got all muddy and I was the muddiest out of our whole group and I got to play on the pump track (mini bmx track) and it was so fun. When we got back to camp we got changed and had a play and we also got ready to walk up chonical hill which was a little hard but not really. When we got to the top it was really nice and there was a nice view from the top. When we were going down the hill someone fell over so we had to wait a while till we could go anywhere. After we all got back to the cars we headed to the lolly shop there was so many people in their at once so I just waited outside for a while. At the lolly shop I got a gobstopper, 2 warheads, a raspberry chocolate log and a banana lolly at they were all so yummy. When we were finished at the lolly shop we went to the hot pools and we had so much fun. After that we went back to camp and we had tea and dessert. After desert we had a camp concert, we did not do really well and we were so not organised. After camp concert we went back to our bunk room and got ready for bed. We had so much fun.
Day 3.
Today is the last day of camp. So this morning we got woken up at 6:45 because somebody's iPod alarm went off and I thought that it was the fire alarm so I went outside to see if anybody else was outside but there was no one out there so I searched and I saw that an iPod was going off but it did scare me a little bit. After that mishap we got dressed and did our hair and headed to the kitchen for breakfast I had the same as day 2 but it was still delicious. After that we went and brushed our teeth then we packed all of our stuff up and packed it into the car and we got ready for our last activity for camp our group's was orienteering. We had 1 hour to find all the markers to complete the activity and there was 600 points (if you got all the markers) but our team did not get all the markers we only needed 80 more points to get there but we only got 520 points and we came second the team that came first got 540 points so we were only 20 points behind them so that was not bad. When we got back to camp we had some morning tea and had a play and then it was nearly time to head back to school. We made 1 stop when we were heading back to Greymouth and that was in Reefton and we had a little snack. We were one of the first cars there so we had a longer time to rest and go to the toilets but some cars only had 1 minute stops. When we got back to school we got all of our things out of the cars that we went I did not need to get my bags out as my dad came on camp.
This was a really fun camp and I hope that you will get to do this camp 😃

Weekly reflection wk2 t2
This week was book week at school.
All through the week we had different activities around the school and on the grey main reading blog.Everyday we had logos and who is reading the book and we had to guess what they are and when we are finished at the end of the week we go to the library and give in our answers and what class gets them all right will win a prize.On Wednesday we had wacky Wednesday and we got to go to school with our school uniform on but with something added to it.On Friday it was book character day and we got to dress up as our favourite book character I dressed up as goffy and my other to friends that I did it with was Micky and Minnie.
For maths we got back into our group work and all class teaching.For maths my group has been learning what is the difference between times say 10:43-12:32 what is the difference.
For reading we have been doing journal studies we have to complete 5 activities and read 5 story's .

Weekly reflection Wk1
In maths I have made a D.L.O about the circumference of a circle. Since we have not yet learnt a new math skill I just did one that I learn't last term.I now know how to do the circumference of a circle and I know how to do it really quickly and I find it really easy to do now. Here is my D.L.O.
For reading this week I have been doing journal work. For journal work we have to read a story out of the book and then we have to answer the questions that we have to do which relate to the story I have done 3 out of the 4 story's and the activities.
For topic this week we have started a new topic and it is about Vincent Van Gogh we have got a google site with information about his painting and information about him. I have not done any activities but I will do them and later on in the term we are going to do some painting from Vincent van gogh and I can't wait to do the painting.
Here is one of his paintings called Starry Night.
