100% pure New Zeland

This term in NZL we have been focusing on New Zealand and if the 100% pure New Zealand are factual.

I have wrote a paragraph on what I believe that it is.


I believe that 100% PURE NZ tourist videos are not 100% factual. I believe that because they are
not showing what is really happening with social problems like homelessness and pollution in our
waterways. The videos are showing only the good things that happen in New Zealand and not the
bad stuff this is because they want people to come here and spend their money they don’t want
people to see what happens in New Zealand. Yes the videos do have some parts of New Zealand
that are beautiful and why wouldn’t you want to come and visit New Zealand but that is all they are
showing. So I believe with watching these videos that they are not 100% factual.

Robotics Y9

In Robotics we designed a mars rover on tinkercad that had aspects
that would be able to find its way around mars so it had some sensors and cameras to look at the living conditions on Mars.


My hypothesis- I designed the mars lander to land on mars to capture photos and to see the living conditions on mars.I thought that it was a good design because it was stable and it was also a good shape as well.

We designed a sphero Mars Rover.We had to decide on a design that worked and that could actually move around drive.We had a frame with 3 whee;s and a big space for our sphero that it could move around and turn.We had other designs that kind of worked but the one that we decided to do was the one that could go the best.

We used a program to land on mars with a mars rover and learn how to drive it with the tools that it provided us with.

We also used another program that we had to use codes to move a little character to complete challenges and to level up the character and that we could also put Armour on it.

We used another program called class craft which the teacher would give us learning challenges to complete that if we completed it we would get points and those points would level up our character and we also got golden points which we could use to buy clothing and other pieces for our character.

9(Art)


The first piece of artwork we did was our name to go onto our folders where all our art will go. I have done my name in block letters and gone around it with black vivid. I designed a pattern around the background and coloured it in with having some darker spots on around the border of some spots.

Another piece of artwork I did was a volume shape drawing. I had four shapes a sphere, a cylinder,a square and a pyramid. I shaded in all of the shapes with shading in some darker spots and shading light in some spots.
My favourite piece of artwork is my fish hook. I have done some patterns around my fish hook and shaded them in.I have shaded in my fish hook around the outside to make it look like its popping out a little bit.

The voyage out to New Zealand (NZL)

In NZL I wrote a letter from being on a voyage heading over to New Zealand leaving my country and then writing to my mum and dad about the voyage.

New Zealand

Date-1834

Dear Mum and Dad,I have arrived safely in New Zealand.The boat ride aboard the Sir George Symour was rough and tiering.The living conditions were rough and there were a few problems aboard the boat.I was happy to find all the little kids doing some fun activities that were provided. When we were close to New Zealand I could see all the land and it was amazing.

The living conditions on this boat was crap the beds and the cabins were so disgusting and they were really disgusting and very uncomfortable.The boat was very very crowded with a lot of people on it coming from England going to this new place called New Zealand.The food and water had run out a few weeks before we got here and I am starving and thirsty.There were a lot of babies born on this voyage. There were also a lot of people that had passed away on this voyage from starvation and falling overboard.

There were a few problems on the voyage heading over to here. One of the main problems was diseases on the boat infecting a lot of the people on the boat which in some case caused death.It was scary to see people just dying in front of me sometimes in the room I was in.There were also some other problems with the winds breaking masts and sails and also also the rough seas going through the hatches.

There were some activities to do onboard the boat like making some cards.I made a card for my new friend that I made on the voyage over.Her name is Elisabeth. I made a lot more new friends on the voyage because that was one of the only thing that you could do on the boat for this long time.We visited some places on the way to New Zealand that had some nice things to look at.

When we arrived in New Zealand it was beautiful. When I got off the boat all I could really see was bush and water. The weather was not the greatest when we got there it was windy and raining. I got off the boat and headed to where I was told to go and I was excited to be here in New Zealand because I got to see a new country and to see the land that they have to offer here.

I hope that you can get over to New Zealand to come live here and to live a new happy life.

Maths term 2 9MG

Coordinates

For one of the topics we have been doing this term is plotting and finding coordinates 
There are two coordinates symbols in finding it there is a two line coordinate system and a 4 line coordinate system.
To plot the coordinate you have two numbers for a 2 line coordinate system your numbers will look something like this(8,6).For a four line coordinate system it may look like (5,6) or(-3,-4).

Our New Zealand 9MG


Last term we were focusing on identity and who we are.One of our task was to see where our food comes from that we eat in our community. Here is my map I did to show where they were.

This term we are focusing on expressing ourselves through art one thing that we have done is research some of New Zealanders artwork and why they did it and what we thought it meant here is what I did.

Drama advertisement 9MG

The advertisement that we choose was called the lift sharpen up ad its a new Zealand ad that we chose. In my group there was 4 of us me,Prakriti,Awa and Haylee. There roles was Haylee-Was the person to say stop doing it me and Prakriti were the people who were slapping each other on the head with a wooden spoon Awa was the recorder who recorded our ad. The PB4L expectation that me and my group choose was safety and how it was not safe to slap each other with wooden spoons. We wrote a script of what we needed to say in the video the script was just a few added words into the normal ad.For the location that we chose to film our ad we went to the technology block and sat on the steps that we have in there and we sat there and recorded our video.To edit our film we used an app called I movie.The part that I enjoyed most about filming was probably getting to have fun when doing work.I think my group did well because we didn't need to do many takes and that was good because it didn't take us long.If we reacted another ad our group would probably try to make the screen not as shaky when we were recording.My final thoughts on our ad were we did really well and I was happy with our finish product.

9MG English:Term 1

This term in English we have been focusing on heroes. We first choose a hero I choose Ruby Tui who is a rugby sevens player. I choose her because she is insperatinol to me and I want to be like her when I am older.

When we first come into the class when we have English we do the big question which is a question that the teacher ask us about and we have to write about it.



At the end of our period in English we do a success ticket which is when the teacher ask us how we did in English that day and what we did well and just things like that


Something I did well this term was that all the work that my teacher set me I completed something that I could do better is stay on task.

On the 9th of April 2018 The whole of year 9 went to Kumara for a field trip we went there because we have been learning about heroes in English and NZL We did 4 activity's our 1 activity was doing a roll play of a story from kumara our 2 activity was our walk at lonenary rock our 3 activity was we went around kumara finding answers to questions about  kumara our last activity was our game that we played it was my favourite part.
